I tried going into the object browser using mozilla firefox.
http://localhost:8080/apex/

but it kept giving me the following error message.

The connection was refused when attempting to contact localhost:8080

anyone can advise

hi,

i also had the same problem.
i just switched to IE. Now my object browser works fine.
also why don't you try apex 3.1.2 which has been launched on 28th aug 2008. It gives some features too.

The OS that I'm using is redhat 4.0 which running in virtual pc.
It doesn't have IE in it.

hi,
though i do not know the meaning, i give the wordings offered by my friend as solution. you shall try it.
on firefox browser settings, you shall make settings as not to go to DNS while handling specified URLs.
