I installed Server 8.1.5 on Windows NT in C:\Oracle\base81 + demo DB (SID=base81). This worked fine, I could connect via sqlplus using scott/tiger and scott/tiger@base81.
After that, I installed Forms6.0 in C:\ORANT.
Now Forms 6.0 cannot connect to base81, sqlplus cannot connect to base81 using scott/tiger@base81. It still works the other way (w/o service name).
I tried to change the path names in the registry under Software/Oracle (pointing to server components) which where fouled up by the forms installation process, but this doesn't work.
I turned on sqlnet trace. As far as I can understand it turns to the correct tnsnames.ora file (C:\Oracle\base81\network\admin) but still cannot resolve the service name. BTW: the Listener is working and using the right config file.
I would greatly appreciate any helpful hint.

hi,
I have already installed Oracle 8i release 8.1 on Win NT. When I start SQL plus, it works perfectly.Now the other machines are connected thru LAN and i installed Oracle Client on those machines, but when i test it thru Neteasy Config,it does not connect. What might be the proble.Please help ASAP.
