Hi Experts,

I need to override a HINTS in front end application code. If I do not remove hints from code itself , is there any way I can override it.

I was suggested to use SQL profile that comes in 10g. My question is it SQL profile extra cost option.

Can I use DBMS_OUTLINE or DBMS_SQLTUNE? I would greatly appreciate if someone could be me pointers for this matter.

I am not sure this is what you want. Check this link.

P.S : Aware of the disclaimer mentioned in the site. It's an underscore parameter. Also there is an known bug with outline in 10.2.0.4 with multibyte characterset. Outline won't work and it is fixed in 11.1 onwards.

And yes, you could use OUTLINEs or SQL Profiler to obviate/replace the original hints.
