Hi, All

I had new assigment to verify the DB and do some DB tuning.

First of all I kinly to say that. I have a bit knowlage about DBA, but I've the guidline to take a look in the information from AWR report (Automatic Workload Repository report) witch gennerated by oracle. Also focus on "Segment tuning".

I've gone through the net, some expertice said to using following command

SQL> alter table temp shrink space compact;
then
SQL> alter table temp shrink space;

But, I'm not clear about that, I need more detail as following issue.

1. what should I do in Segment tuning?.
2. how to do that
3. what's the meaning of above command?

Thank you in advance.

New DBA.
