Hi,

I have installed win 2003 server in one partition and want to install RHEL AS4 on other partition. I installed linux and when i restart. its hanging with error "GRUB loading stage2". I googled it and found that the grub needs to be reinstalled. But when i do it it's still hanging. I created three sub-partitions for linux.
1)/ (Root)
2)Swap
3)/opt

Is it necessary to create /boot partition or / is enough?
Please guide me as i am a newbie
Best Regards,

Hello there,

Probably there is a problem with your grub (maybe you didn't specify the bootable partitions properly during the installation) and it has to be reinstalled. You will need a Linux LiveCD (no matter what distribution) once the session is opened, open a terminal and proceed as it is indicated in the following link:

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=224351

Except that maybe here instead os stage1 you have to search for stage2.
