Hi,

Last week onwards,our database is giving lot of performance issue,when we look into EM performance graph is showing higher than maximum performance CPU and retrieval statements are the top activity when the graph goes up time.main statements are select,select sysdate from sysdual,these statement are eating my database performance,please advice me,what i have to do on this issue

Generate AWR report and watch sections of top five wait events and sqls listed in terms of disk reads,logical reads,cpu time.

And if you haven't got AWR use statspack instead.
