deleting items from master item screen [message #559655]

Dear all

I am facing problem
i defined an item in the master item screen
and that code was wrong
so i want to delete that item and redefine it again

N.B
i don't want to "Inactive" it ... I want to delete it

Set the profile INV: Updateable Item name = yes

then you would able to re-name the Item code in Master Item screen.

Plse note that, this can be update in all history transactions in MTL tables

Hi,

Pls try this way to select the Item code in Item master
Oracle Inventory --> Items --> Delete items
select the master item default organzations select the type as item
after update the item codes in list click the "Delete Group" button check it

Thanks for reply
I tried this step
Oracle Inventory --> Items --> Delete items
and the deletion done for 10 organization from 12 organziation
the last 2 organization has records in mtl_material_transactions table

so i want to make purge of those transaction so i can delete that item from the last 2 organization
i searched for the purge procedure and i think it works for a period without notification for a specific item

can i make purge or delete transactions for that item
N.B the item onhand = 0
