I am currently using oracle developer for development work for oracle.
But later I may do some administration work for oracle.

We are now asked if we need toad license.

We have toad for oracle and also Toad data point.

I understand toad data point is used for maily across platform quries.
But I wonder if it includes all functionality of Toad for oracle.

And since we already have oracle sql developer, do we really need these two tools, toad for oracle and
Toad Data point.

Thanks

I've never even heard of "Toad data point", so I can't comment it.

However: as TOAD costs money, maybe you should do as much as you can with SQL Developer (especially as you're used to it). Then, if there's something you can't do with it (sincerely, I doubt that there's such thing because people maintained their Oracle databases using SQL*Plus only, so - why couldn't you do it with SQL Developer?), consider switching over to another, more powerful tool.

I never used http://www.quest.com/toad-data-point Toad Data Point

I recommend you Toad for Oracle, because it's a help for newbie DBA. Sure as Littlefoot said everything can be done with SQL*Plus. But a GUI is help for newbie.

But unlike Toad, Oracle's own SQL Developer is free.
