Hi,

i have oracle 9I under Windows 2000 server .

i m getting ora-27100 where i try to start an instance.

I made a shutdown immediate trough sqlplus /nolog but when i want to startup it fails does anyone have the answer?

try to startup shutodwn using control panel/services.
if it fails, make the autostart property to manual in services.
set uR SID
login to sqlplus
issue a shutdown.
startup using the pfile

Hi,

thanks a lot. This is a nice workaround. But when I return to startmode a. The same Error occurs.
