I'm am attempting to replicate an 8.0.6 with an 8.1.7
Oracle server in a multimaster environment on Sun Solaris (SunOS 5.6 and SunOS 5.8, resp).
The whole exercise fails on the 8.0.6 end in one of the preliminary steps i.e. executing dbms_repcat_admin.register_user_repgroup which should register the receiver. There is no such component registered in dbms_repcat_admin.

Can anyone help with the 8.0.6 equivalent of the 8.1.7 register_user_repgroup? Alternatively, can someone point me in the direction of a solution?

Thanks.

I haven't replicated with Oracle 8.0.6, but I have worked with 8.1.5 Enterprise Edition onward.

You might want to look at the sample scripts on my web site which were created with my Repgen application.

Or you may download a demo version and look at the sample scripts on your own computer:

One of the critical aspects of Advanced Replication which is automatically handled by the scripts created by Repgen is the setup of conflict resolution. An incorrect setup of the conflict resolution parameters will cause data divergence between the replicated systems - which is not desirable.
