Using COUNT in Discoverer on Master/Detail construct [message #88436] Thu, 29 August 2002 07:36 Go to next message

I'm using Discoverer V4.1.37
I have 2 tables with a Master/Detail relationship
My workbook selects items from both tables.
If I try to do a COUNT or COUNT DISTINCT on items selected from the Master table then no total appears.
Looking at Oracle's bug list I'm not sure if it is going to be fixed in later releases or not.
Can anyone advise???
Thanks

Hi Sue!
I have faced this problem myself..The only workaround is to change all fields into NUMBER , otherwise you have to build this relationship all over again having NUMBER fields..
I hope this will help..
