I used to do Pro*C development back in Oracle 7.x. I'm now getting back into it, and a friend of mine said that you aren't supposed to use Pro*C anymore, that they have switched to OCI.

I had done some OCI programming back then, and it was kind of clunky.

These are some server side batch programs that do some extraction, loads, etc.

Any idea if my friend is correct? I tried looking around the Oracle site, but didn’t see anything.

Your friend is right. OCI is better than Pro*C but it's a little difficult to use.

Some link for you.
