hi iam a certified dba trying to shift to financials. i need to know the books, sites, forums, and documentation on oracle 11i...financials...i want to be a financials dba...can anyone pl guide me with the books and documentation...........i am in urgent need of this.....pl

I would suggest the following books:
- Using Oracle 11i (Publisher: Que; ISBN: 078972670X)
- Oracle E-Business Suite Financials Handbook (Publisher: McGraw-Hill Osborne Media; ISBN: 0072132302)
- Oracle Applications Performance Tuning Handbook (Publisher: McGraw-Hill Osborne Media; ISBN: 0072125497)
- Oracle E-Business Suite 11i: Implementing Core Financial Applications (Publisher: John Wiley & Sons; ISBN: 0471412058)
Each of these books offers good information to understand the basic knowledge you would need to work with Oracle Apps. The Performance Tuning handbook will be most useful as an Apps DBA - but most of the info is not dated as it pertains to the Release 11 - and the earliest releases of 11i. You will want to review the white paper "A Holistic Approach To Performance Tuning Oracle Applications Systems Release 11 and 11i" for up to date information. This paper is available via Metalink.
Good career choice - it is challenging.
