We just installed Oracle 9i Enterprise Edition 9.2 64 bit on a Sun Solaris Blade Server. We have started Oracle and are able to access SQLPLUS and have created a database. What we cannot find is the Oracle precompiler (procob). When we do a FIND on the server the only procob files that are found are in demo directories. Is this something we did wrong in the installation? How can we get procob once we have installed oracle?

Dear Kirby,

When you install Oracle, you must have your $COBDIR, $PATH
and LD_LIBRARY_PATH/LIBPATH set for Micro Focus or other Cobol.
Otherwise the Cobol procob options will not come up on the oracle install.

All the best, Phil Diakun
