hi all

i'm new here and i hope that anybody can help me
(sorry for muy bad english Razz)

i have installed ORACLE Database 10g on my linux Fedora Core 3

and it's running now without any errors,

i want to install ORACLE Developer Suite on the same Partation

i read the manuals

it's say that i must change ORACLE_HOME and PATH

but if i change it the Database will stop running Sad

please help me i have graduate project after 2 weeks

Yes, developer is to be installed in another oracle home. But that's no problem.

Let the TNSNAMES.ORA file in your Developer home point to the TNSNAMES.ORA file of your database. You could use the "IFILE=path_to_other_file". That way all your TNSNAMES.ORA files are alligned and you'll be able to connect to your local database. I've done it several times myself (never on Linux though).

PS: be patient.
