I am planning to install Linux and 10g on external hard disk of my notebook (1GB of RAM). It has Window XP Pro. but I have external hard drive (80GB of space). First of all I need to find out if I can install Linux on external hard disk with out damaging current OS XP? If it is possible, please tell me how or give me any web site where I can get all the info like what version / flavor of Linux and step by step guide ? How do I set my XP configurations so that it give me option to choose OS (XP/Linux) ?

Please help me out I need to install on own Laptop so that I can learn and practice on Oracle 10g.

I would appreciate your help !!

Thank You,

Humair
