I M NITIN

ACCIDENTLY I VE DELETED ORACLE HOME DIR

-> LINUX SERVER
-> WINDOWS CLIENT

BUT TABLESPACE & INVENTORY DATA, DATA FILES ARE SAFE

BUT

ORACLE HOME '/ORACLE/APP/ORACLE/PRODUCT/10.1.0/DB_1/DBS'

THE DIR DB_1/DBS ARE DELETED REMAINING IS SAFE

WHAT IS THE SOLUTION? IS IT REQUIRED REINSTALLATION

hi,

Nitin, information is little less. What was thr in ur DB_1/DBS directory?

>> R u able to access Oracle and all its executables like dbca, netmgr, netca etc.?

if yes, then no reinstallation is needed.

>> R u able to connect to ur database ?

check it out. and try to elaborate the scenario, such as what problem u r facing after losing this directory ?

I M UNABLE TO CONNECT TO ORACLE 10g THROUGH TELENET

WHEN I ENTERED ON TELNET

Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS release 3 (Taroon Update 2)
Kernel 2.4.21-4.EL on an i686
login: oracle (dba group)
Password:*****
Login incorrect

I M UNABLE TO CONNECT TO ORACLE

ORACLE HOME '/ORACLE/APP/ORACLE/PRODUCT/10.1.0/DB_1/DBS/'

DB1_1/DBS/PASSWORDFILE,CONTROLFILE,ALERTFILE,SPFILE,INIT.ORA& OTHER RELATED FILES)

ORACLE STARTUP PROCEDURE


login:oracle <-
password:****** <-
lsnrctl start <-
sqlplus <-
login: sys as sysdba <-
password: ******
SQL>startup <-
SGA information
ORACLE INSTANCE STARTED


I M UNABLE TO CONNECT TO DATABASE.

BUT IN TOAD

USING FTP

IT ACCESS THE DIR '/ORACLE/APP/ORACLE/PRODUCT/10.1.0/'

HOST NAME:192.168.0.222
USER NAME:oracle
PASSWORD:*****

PRESSING OK BUTTON IT IS CONNECTED TO ORACLE_HOME DIR
