Hi

Is there wayout to get the output of the apps report directly in xls sheet in place of going to text and then xls.

You should take a look at XML Publisher. XML Publisher formats reports into XML, HTML, Excel, Word or PDF-documents. Read more about it in the Oracle XML Publisher User's Guide. XML Publisher is pretty much the future as far as formatting reports in the Oracle E-Business Suite.
