Can any one plz tell me how to enable the version control in the
oracle designer 6i.

I think with Designer 6i you have to download and install the SCM (Source Control Manager) software from OTN. You have to get the version of SCM that matches your Designer 6i.
Once you have that installed then you turn it on at the database instance level, so select the top layer of your instance and look at the properties sheet.
