Hello,

I've asked this question on the Oracle Metalink site also, but it seems hard to find an answer to my question.

We're running OWB 9.2 (clients 9.2.0.2.8 / repository 9.2.0.2.0). At the moment we have 5 runtime repository's on O(Development), T(Test), A(Acceptance), S(Mirror Production) and P(Production) environments. All of these are running in databases on servers running 32-bits Windows 2000 server. Our system administrators want to migrate the S(Mirror Production) and P(Production) environments to Windows Server 2003 x64. These are 64-bit environments. So here comes the question; Is this possible in our current setup of OWB 9.2?

Will OWB 9.2 support a 32-bit design environment with deployments to both 32-bit O(Development), T(Test) and A(Acceptance) and 64-bit S(Mirror Production) and P(Production) databases?

Regards,
Robbert Naastepad

Not much response here, but got some from oracle:

Warehouse Builder 9.2.0.2.8 is not certified with Windows 64-bit. See View Certifications by Product -> Data Warehousing -> Oracle Warehouse Builder. Choose the Microsoft Windows 2003 (AMD64/EM64T) or Microsoft Windows 2003 (Itanium) platform, click on Submit and you will see the releases. In this case 64-bit is only certified with 10gR2.

Regards,
Rob

Thanks for the feedback. So, are they saying you can't do it?

Exactly.

For now we've decided to only convert our source systems for the datawarehouse to the 64-bit platform and leave the OWB database on it's own 32-bit server.

Rob
