Our organization just upgraded to Oracle9i reports from 6i. One of the 6i features that I used a lot was find/replace. The 9i version has a find/replace (although it moved from its previous location) but it doesn't search through the entire rdf, you have to open each individual function/format trigger etc. and do the find replace from there. This seems like a giant step backwards. Has anyone found a workaround for this problem or is it just the way it is with this release. We're running Report Builder 9.0.2.0.3. Thanks in advance for your comments, suggestions.

In other words, none of "Find and Replace <Ctrl + F>" and "Find and Replace in PL/SQL ..." (both in the EDIT menu) satisfies you? Did you, using the second option, choose which program unit you want to search through?

In the 6i version if you had 30 format triggers where you were changing the report text to red under some condition and you wanted to change the text to be blue for some reason, you could use the find/replace feature to change all 30 triggers in one pass. So this version is much less user friendly because now you have to know where the triggers are and open each one individually to make the change. Unless someone can tell me a way around it.

In my opinion, you don't know how to use it and, instead of learning it, you keep saying that it is impossible.

First screenshot shows excerpt of the Report Builder Online Help system (which you didn't read):

The second one displays a live example: I chose to replace 'tob' with 'asdf' in 'rob_lista_ocitanja_zapis' report and successfully replaced 6 occurrences:

Ok, so it basically acts like the 6i version except that you have to select at least one program unit. Not very intuitive, but ok. Thanks for your help.
