Is this possible to give search button on Oracle reports.

plz help me. My prob is:-

Suppose i run a report which give me details of employee salary. now user want that there should be a button. by clicking on that button, i can search for a employee by giving his/her name in a text field. is this possible? Plz tell me.

You could create a user parameter and use it in the WHERE clause of the query.

I guess that you'd like to add a text field to your report and a "Search" button next to it, so that it would "emulate" search facility used in, for example, Opera web browser to "Find (something) in page".

If so, I'm sorry - I never tried to do that. You might, however, display the report results as a PDF document and use Acrobat Reader's search facility.
