Just found out that a company i may have the chance to work for are migrating their systems from 8i to 10g.

Can anyone please explain to me how i would go about migrating the data from one system to another in general terms.

Also could anyone please explain to me how i would Administer Oracle and Monitor Performance with the new Oracle 10g Grid Control can't really see anything comprenhesive about what this does on google searches?

You may have to migrate to 9i before going to 10, read the migration guide.
If not just use export/import. Then check for invalid objects.
