Hi Experts,

Can any one send me the installation tips/guide? Please give me a document which i can easily understand. I have been searching online but am finding documents with lots of pages. I need the installation steps in easy format. I recently bought my laptop and i didn't check for the compatibility for oracle versions. I have some knowledge on 9i. But 10g i never worked on it. So can i able to work on 10g machine as i work on 9i? Please suggest me whether 9i or 10g is compatible with Microsoft - Vista Operating system.

I would appreciate your support in advance.

Server is not certified for windows vista.
Client 10.2.0.3 is certified for windows vista Business edition, Enterprise edition, and Ultimate edition.

There is difficulty to install Oracle on Windows, just click on setup and follow the screen.

I am not able to find the version(10.2.0.3 client) as you said. Can i install 10.2.0.1? Is this compatible with Windows Vista?

You can only get 10.2.0.1 for free.
Only 10.2.0.3 client is certified.

I did not get you.Please tell me in clear. I already have
Oracle Database 10g Release 2 (10.2.0.1.0)
Enterprise/Standard Edition for Microsoft Windows (32-bit)
with me. Can i install it on my laptop? Please suggest me the specified version and give me the link to download. I can not find 10.2.0.3 on the link you sent me. Please send me the exact link. So that i can simply download it.

1/ You can install 10.2.0.1 but it is not certified
2/ To install just click on setup.exe
3/ To have a certified version you must get 10.2.0.3
4/ To get 10.2.0.3 you must search on Metalink but you must have a Metalink account that is a support contract with Oracle.

Is that clear?
