I wonder how many of the OTN registrants are duplicates, triplicates, and so forth. They have had a problem for many years where you could not change your email address. So, every time anyone would switch companies and acquire a new email address, they would have to re-register with the new email address, using a different username, to avoid conflicts with the old username, in order to get notifications to go to the new email address. There are also some people who post under various aliases as pranks and such. So, it may not be valid to simply compare the number of registrants.
