Hi Experts,

We have oracle 10.2.0.2 on Solaris 5.9. The database use ASM to store datafiles. Now we are going to implement RAC and for that we need to move the whole database from that server to RAC.

Could you please suggest me how to move the database from existing environment to RAC.

Please suggest asap.

Thanks in Advance
Gulshan

We don't do ASAP here.

What is stopping you from using RMAN?

If we take the backup using RMAN then what steps we should follow to restore the backup into RAC and whether we first need to create the asm instance and how the asm of RAC will allow to restore the datafiles without database or if we need to create the database first.

I am not cleared about the steps to be followed. So please guide me.

Thanks
Gulshan
