Hi Everybody!

First of all, sorry for my English. I am Argentinian.

I have a problem with Oracle 10g XE Western European Edition in Ubuntu Gutsy Gibbon. I can install Oracle perfectly. I can go http://127.0.0.1:8080/apex and its ok. I also can use database with sqlplus. I can't have oracle starting my pc every time, so i put i want to start oracle manually. The problem is that after rebooting (after the installation) oracle doesn't start. If i run the command /etc/init.d/oracle-xe start or /etc/init.d/oracle-xe start it seems it work. But if i go to http://127.0.0.1:8080/apex it is down.

So, i tried to look for the problem. I see something different in the status between when it is running ok (when i installed it) and after rebooting Ubuntu.

Here is what /etc/init.d/oracle-xe status shows me after installing oracle:

mariano@mariano-ubuntu:~$ sudo /etc/init.d/oracle-xe status

I don't know what i have the UNKNOWN status. Does anyone know what this can be? Do you need some other information like tnsname, listener or hosts files?

Very Thanks!

Mariano
