SQL*DBA

SQL*DBA was an administration utility used to start, stop and manage databases. SQL*DBA was replaced with Server Manager in Oracle 7.3 and SQL*Plus in Oracle 8i.

Oracle 6 Examples[edit]

Startup the database:

sqldba command=startup

Shutdown the database:

sqldba "command=shutdown abort"

Oracle 7 Examples[edit]

Startup the database:

sqldba
SQLDBA> connect internal
SQLDBA> startup

Shutdown the database:

sqldba
SQLDBA> connect internal
SQLDBA> shutdown abort
